Why I Created This Space

Let's be real: running a fashion business was not just for me.

Several years after completing a sustainable fashion brand accelerator program and saving enough to design my own capsule collection, I took a pause because my priorities suddenly shifted over the years. The grind of completing projects became an unsustainable high and running a business would only worsen my feelings of anxiety, fatigue, and aimlessness. Wanting to not feel the same burnouts from working on other projects, I felt like it was time to recalibrate. 

What can I create that won’t replicate the extractive nature of the fashion industry while also allowing me to fulfill a childhood dream of mine? That’s when I thought to myself:

“What if I just made clothes without the expectations of selling them for profit?

What if I just made them for me?"

And what if I wanted to create something that goes beyond the boundaries of sartorialism?

 

That's when the idea of taking an expansive approach toward this project came to manifest.

A maker space that I could call mine.
