I am launching my studio with the first piece I've ever designed from sourcing to fitting. FIRST ITERATION is a 1-piece high neck swimsuit with full bum coverage. Recycled plastic bottles were saved in the making of this swimsuit. Perfect for daydreaming an anti-work future while lying under the sun.

There is only one item of this piece as it is the original. Since FIRST ITERATION was not originally intended for sale, I've priced it at a suggested $ donation for another project I’m running, the PROJECT VOICE FUND (https://www.projectvoicepod.com/our-grantees).

DETAILS

Made in New York, NY. 83% 78% Repreve® Recycled Polyester and 22% Spandex. Machine wash cold with like colors. Use soft liquid detergent. Hand or flat dry. Do not place in dryer or dry clean.

WHY ONLY 1 ITEM?

As you already know, running a fashion business is different from running a fashion project. In my eyes, I’ve invested in so much money into this clothing line project that it was tough for me to imagine being able to financially sustain it on the long-term with a continued non-profit mindset. And I couldn’t see myself mustering enough energy and enthusiasm to sell enough to keep a business going (kudos to all the entrepreneurs out there who can from the beautiful pieces they’ve designed, though!).

This is not a direct critique to the fashion business owners out there who are shifting consumer behavior and attitudes through their ethical and sustainable practices. I believe that everyone can play an important a role in making our world better place through the small and big changes they are able to make within their capacities.

It’s just… running a fashion business is not just for me.
